Has anybody installed the Brite Box by Geno's? If so how do you like it? Is there a cheaper alternative? Just want some extra light on the subject.

If you are comfortable with wireing and can read a wiring diagram you can do the same thing with a few wires, a $6 relay, and a fuse. Your truck has switched ground set up for the lights unlike my '95 which switches 12 volts so I can't give you the diagram for it. The idea is to have a relay turn on the low beams when you have the high beams on.

Micheal, The brite boxs works great. I was going to rewire mine relays but decided to just buy the box instead. It does make a big dif. out on the road. I also have my fogs wired one high or low beam or parking lights. Just jump(you make the jumo wire) from the large terminal to the middle small one ( ibelieve) and presto!. Good luck, Dave PS the bright box is like a 2 min. install:) :)

b. j. oneill,

I'm about 250 miles away from my service manual right now so all I can give you is the general idea. You need to tap a fused 12 volt source or wire from B+ thru a fuse to supply power for the low beams. Then tap the 12 volt wire for the high beams to the trigger of the relay so that when the high beams are on the relay connects. Don't forget to ground the ground terminal on the relay. Then attach the 12 volt supply to one load terminal and the low beam power wire to the other load terminal. If you want any other lights to come on (fog lights or running lights or whatever) you need another relay and fuse. On the '95 the low beam wire is not connected to anything but the low beams. I have my after market 100w running lights set up to come on with the high beams too. It gets DARK on US101 in the redwood country. Helps to see deer and other critters (stoned hippys) wandering on the highway.

Michael-

I've had the Brite Box for a couple of years now. Works great. I also used a jumper to keep the fog lights on when the high beams are on. It took about 15 minutes including reading the directions.

Dave.

Thanks for the feedback. I am going to order one. Is it as easy hooking the fogs up to the brights as you make it sound?

Michael

I like my Brite Box, makes a big difference! I rigged my fog lights to sense the parking lights, that way the fogs are on any time the lights are on and I still have the option to switch them off when I want. Thats the way I've done it since the late 70's. (I know, I sometimes get stuck in a rut. )
