Anyone figure out how to wire the 3rd gen trucks to illuminate both filaments of the headlamps at high beam? It sure lights the road up very nicely when you hold the turn-signal lever briefly when clicking up to high beam position and both filaments are lit until you let go of it.

I just set the hi beams then pull the lever back in. This gives all 3 (if you have the fogs) lites the POWER! Then if another is approching, just let go of the lever and you back to normal. (not the best method but until I get the 100watters installed, this will have to do - gets tiring tho for the 100-150 miles I need them)

Vaughn,

I imagine Brite Box will come out with a box for the 2003's eventually. Kind of pricey at $95. 00 and the units for the 2003's will probably cost more.

The headlights are the only thing I don't like about my truck in the 5,000 miles I've put on it. I drove my first long distance trip at night this past weekend. I drove with the stalk pulled back and that lit things up but was tiring and, according to the web site above, not a good idea.

I drove I 25 from Casper to Buffalo, WY at night. The medians are pretty wide along this stretch. I experimented with driving with the stalk pulled back and with just the hi beams on. I never got flashed on high beams and only once with the stalk pulled back. (Of course, we're not talking about meeting a lot of traffic. ) The head lights on the Dodge are even worse than the lights on the 2001 GMC I got rid of. I've got to do something. There are giant deer a few elk and antelope all over this country. The only thing I intend to do to my truck is fix the lights, install nerfs and put a UTE bumper on it.

It's Here! Oo.

I stopped by Geno's Garage yesterday and they handed me a copy of their latest catalog (#41). The 2003 Brite Box IS LISTED! The part number is SD7-KIT and is described as, "Up to '03, one unit works both headlights. 2003 trucks have dual headlight systems that work independent of each other; thus the '03 kit includes two separate units - one for each headlight. "

The price is about 50% more than the previous kits.

I live DANGEROUSLY close to these guys, at least for my wallet's sake! I need to review the wiring to see if I could reverse the role of the fog light circuit with the high beam. That way I could use the big driving lights in my Buckstop bumper. :D

Disclaimer: Just a customer. No business relationship with them beyond that.

Stay tuned, Vaughn. Electrical mods will be starting soon.

Don't EVER waste $95 on a "Brite-Box," which is just a glorified relay and some wire.
