Archived Broke a fan blade, took out the radiator

A blade broke off the cooling fan on the way to work this morning. Punched two holes in the radiator.



1. Who is the cheapest source for a fan blade

2. How many rows can be SAFELY bypassed.



I will be running the repaired radiator until I can afford the 350-400 for a replacement.

Unfortunately, you'll probably have to replace the entire fan, to keep it in balance. Otherwise it will probably break again, possibly in a more disasterous way. As far as the radiator goes, that might depend upon how clean it is inside, and what the outside temperature is where you are driving it. I've 'bypassed' quite a few tubes in a radiator before, drove it a couple of weeks like that. The outside temps were mild (60-70 degrees) and I was driving it with no load.
