Archived Broken down, need advice

1996 Dodge 3500 w/90k miles, Auto Trans blew while pulling my RV while in VA mtns, truck is now at a dealer 3hrs away waiting authorization for repair. Should I replace w/OEM or with a Jasper or better? Dodge Dealer says they are the same, don't want to replace again anytime soon. Help/Thanks

Go with Dtt stuff or the newly out ATS stuff. Since you are out of warranty go with the new improved equipment. I have been running DTT auto trans for the past 40,000 miles and cant belive the difference from stock. No problems and the people are great to deal with and they DO stand behind their products.

There I made a plug for DTT transmissions. Let the flamming begain.

I heard good things about DTT. ATS had good plug in issue 36 by the earthroamer.



You could always call on Standard transmission. That way you never would have to worry! Oo.

I put an ATS in my truck about 2 weeks ago (I now have 2k miles on the trans, 13k on the truck), and have been having absolute fun with it every day. Oo. Oo. NO problems whatsoever! ATS also has a 65k mile warranty, and they are awesome to deal with. They stand behind everything they offer. You can call Clint or Don and they will tell you whatever you want to know about their products. Visit them at ATS Diesel or call them at 800. 949. 6002.



One word of advise. Call everyone you can think of - I did, and it was well worth the effort. Call Bill at DTT, as well as Don or Clint at ATS. Make calls to local reputable transmission shops too. Make your decision from a well-informed standpoint and you can't go wrong.

Best advice is to go with something other than OEM unless you want to be doing it again soon. ATS would be my choice due to the excellent warranty. They will ship out a new trans to whoever you would like to install it.

Call Dave at Goerend Brothers Transmissions, good stuff and reasonably priced. I am very satisified with mine.



Whichever way you go, do not go stock. Obviously, the dealer doesn't have enough information to make an informed decision.
