Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) broken ecm

I have a 2002 3500 that the ecm went out it does not know how to read apps and reads 40psi of boost with KOEO 'NICE' sent ecm to NAPA was sent back non fixible. here is my question are the ecm year and truck specific and where can i get one for under 1500. 00 plus tow truck to dealer for reflash sorry for spelling do this with 2 fingers thanks.

The ECM is model year specific. Send a PM to Bob Wagner or go to www.smartypower.com. Bob's got the ability to answer about any ECM question you have and probably can help you out with getting ahold of a replacement I would guess. Definitely don't pay $1500 for one...

I just found a place in texas that deals with just dodge diesel used parts and I am getting an ecm and pcm from him for under 700. The website is useddieselparts.com and use the phone number it is easier to reach him.
