Broken flexplate

Had a double wamy bad trip to southcarilina My wife had the truck in Ohio so I took the van to southcarolina for work for a week. Well It broke so my wife came down when she got back from Ohio. We made a beach trip out of it for the weekend. Get home to Verginia and I hitch the trailor and head down to Southcarolina to fetch the van. When I get back to I 77 and I 81 what a horendous racket under the truck. The flexplate is broken. Not all the way through yet. So I did get to limp home trailer van and all. I fixed the van last night (fuel pump). And now for the truck. I need a flexplate in time to get the truck and trailer to Ohio laborday weekend. So I can bring another of my tractors down here. Hey Tug You have a pm. Your phone # didn't work I get a fax tone?

I would either buy a 2nd gen one from Cummins, or get the one Piers sell. I have the one from Piers and no doubt that it is an upgrade from the stock one.

Called Piers today and got one ordered 150 dollers I didn't ask what shiping was. Hey Zac what did you pay for shiping. I went with regular ground. I hope That I don't have to get the torqu machined like he did. I think it is a stock converter.

It would be a very good idea to change your rear main seal while you have your trans pulled back and you have the opporotunity.....

Well I cheated a little. I did not drop the trans all the way. I left the crossmember alone,removed the brackets from the tail housing,screwed two 6 inch bolts where two bell bolts were,and slid the trans back 5 inchs. I have the old flex out and waiting on the seal and flex to show up. I don't know if I have 2 houres in it yet.

Well it is back together Last wensday infact. It made it to Toledo and back with another of my tractors on the trailer. It was a sad trip back. The 6 Virginia children killed in the explosion near Flint Mi. were 6 of my neibors 9 children. Two boys were my sons best friends and the yung girl was my dauters best friend. My wife was very atached to them. We went to the hospital sunday to be with the two children that servived. They will make it but they will be there a while. The hospital cost and the burial cost are going to be astrinomical for them. When we see tragitys on the news you never thing they could hit this close to home. I was mad about my broken truck,they lost a family. I will pull my trans every day to have those babys back.

Gentlemen... . a sincere moment of silence and prayer are in order... ... ... ... while we're at it, lets put one out there for the folks in the south... . I can tell you that, up here in Canada, we've all bowed our heads at the horrific sights... . but the children, they're what really hits hard...
