Broken Front Spring

Anyone ever break a front spring. My Driver's front spring broke right by the eye at the front. The truck has seen a hard life. Most of it off road with 200,000 miles or so. Lots of welding on the frame and pieces welded to the spring hanger as the holes were egged. I threw a spring out of my wrecked '93 in there. We drove the truck for who knows how long with the spring broken. Gotta keep the old girl going as the engine just doesn't miss a beat.

I never broke one of the front leafs in my '92 W250, but I did replace them with a Skyjacker 1" leveling kit. After about 212,000 miles the stock springs had allowed the front end to sag down almost to the bump stops and the ride was incredibly rough. The ride with the Skyjacker kit was much, much better.
