How common are they?

I had one go last week and was just curious if anyone else has had it happen on thier EDM's?

Mine didn't look anything like that. (thank goodness)

It was #4 that went 3 days after the install of my Hot Rod Pump. Had the cylinder scoped today and everything looks good. But when it went the truck was shut down and not started. It does have me a little scared to run them now.

I'd like to know more about the one in the pic.

All six injectors are going back to be inspected and to be recalibrated. #4 will be completely replaced at no cost with a brand new injector. After talking with two diesel mechanics that have a combined 30 + years in the diesel industry broken injector tips are not that uncommon. Looks like as was pretty lucky and the peace of tip was rather small and didn't do any serious damage like some do. After talking with a few more guys today I do feel pretty good about putting them back in once they are inspected and checked out. I do know one thing stock Sticks are pretty lame when you are used to 200 Horse EDM's. :)

Just want to say thanks to J. R. for the great service and the quick responce on this. Also want to thank Billy at BRC Diesel for the loner set of cores to get me back on the road. Those two fellas and my buddy Bill are great guys to have around and deal with.
