Has any removed/exchanged one of the plastic rear fenders on a '01 Dodge dually?

How do you get to the retainers that hold the fender on?

I understand that a new one is about $2000, but if I can find one in a junk yard..... and if I can unbolt it to take it home , I would be much better off.

TIA

Bob,

I think, but don't hold it against me if I'm wrong, but I think it's some type of screw that they use. I also think there is some type of gasket there as well, but I wouldn't have a clue on what it's made of.

I imagine your going to need to take off the tires/wheels so that you have more room work under there. Seeing that your truck is almost brand new, you shouldn't, unless you have been off the beaten path a lot, have mud and all that good stuff to worry about fighting.

If you do go to a salvage yard for the new fender, check for cracks in the fiberglass.

I hope this helps.
