Got my truck back, sounds good, still has the e-brake but will not use it like before. Thanks for all the views an opinions on what caused the breakage, good food for thought. I now believe that my E-brake was a big part of my problem. This is from a Banks site "letting press. exceed 60psi. in a cummins can damage a diesel if the pressure in the exhaust system which also bears against the back sides of closed exhaust valves exceeds the valves springs ability to hold the valves on their seats, th exhaust valves would be forced open and the piston could strike the valves. this pressure would depend on the valve springs seat pressure and the area of the valve head. " www.bankspower.com/tech-howexhaustbrakeworks.cfm A mfg. of e-brakes called U. S. Gear has a waste gate set-up to relieve pressure build-up to prevent engine damage. I have to believe that something in my e-brake must have stuck or got locked up and caused the rockers to break. My truck weighs over 12k as it is a class C M. H. on a cab and chassis. Maybe the 12k pushing against it at every stop added to the problem. I read one other bit of info and that was do not use an e-brake from a 12v on a 24v or big damage could occur. One fellow told me that his Dodge dealer sells an installs E-brakes an thinks they are covered by warranty, be careful I was at a Dodge dealer in Nev. that sells an installs the trick fuel boxes, but voids the warranty in a heartbeat. Thanks for all your help. Jcarew :)
