Broke the red plastic on the rear tail light loading 2x4's yesterday. How does one replace this? I am assuming I will need to buy the whole assembly, hopefully not. Any ideas what the local stealer is going to charge me? This was an HUA move, I was in a hurry.

I broke mine also a few months ago, backed into a mailbox post while doing someone a favor. It is real easy to replace. Drop the tailgate remove the screws and remove the assembly. The assembly cost about $60 at the dealer to the best of my recollection. You have to but the whole thing as the lens itself can't be replaced. .

Thanks georgej! I cracked a rear tail light on my '95 a couple of months ago, and didn't want to get it from the dealer. I just ordered it from the site you suggested. Thanks!

if you'll play around on ebay you can find them easily. we broke one on my dad's truck and i got a replacement for $15 thru ebay. dealer quoted me $76 plus.

This thread is worth a bump. I just ordered a tail light for $31 shipped from http://www.headlightwarehouse.com/shop after some miscreant tagged my truck in a parking garage last night. I will repost if there are any problems, but it seems others have had good experiences with this vendor.

The search function pays for itself yet again. :)
