My BIL picked up his new Furd F-250 Sooper Doody yesterday. That thing is loud. He brought it by to show it off and I had to ask him to turn it off (he didn't). The dealer sent the thing to Florida before it was picked up to have a three inch lift kit put on it along with taller tires and rims. I don't know how big the tires are cause I couldn't hear him with the truck running. I think my 01 Ram was quieter.

Hope he doesn't have any problems with the transmission, injectors or rear end on that thing.

yeah

you know I just test drove one the other days for kicks, and I was suprised at how loud that thing was! I thought they were supposed to be getting quieter! Didn't bother me, though, i like my diesels loud. Also the turbo was EXTREMELY loud compared to my old Cummins and the older powerstrokes. I will have to say though in all honesty it was a nice truck. I liked it.

Try putting your head over the powerstroke engine with the hood up while at idle. It made my ears ring in pain! To bad its not a pleasing diesel rumble, more like a jet engine about to shred. :(

A lot of those Fords have lift kits and big tires on them. Makes it easier for the owners to get under them to pinpoint oil leaks and for the tow truck drivers to get under them to hook them up and pull them onto the flatbed ;) .

There is allot of Ford's that run in our group four to be exact that are regulars and three TDR members. All of them (Fords) have had some sort of stalling,hard to start (cold),or just quit running issues 7. 3's aswell as 6. 0's I love it!!!. I try not to be too biased due to the Dodges problems Ball Joints, launch shutter, and the weird vibes at 70 thing. I am honest with them when we all are talking s*** around the campfire but at least the Dodges won't leave you stranded. That being said I have spent some time behind the wheel of both the 7. 3's and the 6. 0's and they just don't have the hit that the Cummins provides off the bottom. It's just by chance that I wound up with my first Dodge the 99 being a Chevy guy all my life I just didn't want the 6. 5 that Chevy had at the time. The Dodges are truly a remarkable vechical as long as the front wheel stay on.

Well as long as my BIL is happy, I'm happy. I heard him trying to crank that thing this morning. Yowza, it takes a few tries on a cold, wet, rainy mornin'. :{

I read someplace that there is a snap ring in the transmission that's been letting go on those trucks. Blows a hole in the case of the transmission.

By the sounds of it... . He'll be askin to borrow your truck sooner than later!

Snap rings out the side. :eek: I read about that. That would cause me to have a mometary loss of situational awareness. :-laf

When things are under warranty... . I tend to have that problem too.....

What do you mean the transmission blew up? :confused: That's why I pushed the throttle to the floor and held it there. I thought it would make it move sooner or later. I didn't think it would blow the motor! :-laf :-laf :-laf
