OK, now that I have your attention, heres the problem. My brother has a 93 3/4 ton 4x4. He bought a set of 96 factory chrome wheels which fit the bolt pattern but the lugs are 9/16 and the originals are 1/2 inch. The shoulder of the 1/2 inch lugs will not hold the center cap in place on the new rims. Does anyone know who makes 1/2 lug nuts with the same sholder of the 9/16 lugs? Or is he screwed with the new rims?

Give me the sholder size on the lug nuts you have. I have a set of 1/2" that are made up to 9/16's. If you want a pic I can post on of them also.

I have three sets of these. One set in 1/2". One set in 9/16". On set in 5/8"

the 5/8"are on my truck.

Philip,

My brother is out of town, I will have him look at your post as soon as he returns. Thanks for your help and hopefully this is what he needs.

Phillip;

I got this Dodge P/N 06034834 off the rountable a while back it is supposedly for a 1/2" lug nut that takes a 15/16" lug wrench. The second gen's use this size lug wrench. I have yet to find any of these. It is an actual P/N one dealer looked it up and it is lug nut for a Dakota but I would like to see one before I buy them.

What I ended up doing on my '89 CTD was wrap shim matreial around the inside of the center cap and attach it with pop rivets. It is working for now. I'm running the steel ralley type wheels with trim rings on my '89 CTD.

If you do find out these lug nuts will work please let me know.

Hope this helps and good luck.

Jeff,

I just talked with my brother and he ordered one nut to try and it solves the problem. He ordered four sets and now has the cast aluminum wheels on the truck and looks great. He bought a set of aftermarket center caps for the front (an eagle instead of the Ram) cut this out and now has access for the front lockers. Thanks for your help.

Rock; Glad I could help. I guess I'll go order some for my '89. It would make me feel better. I have the center caps shimmed know so they would work with what lug nuts I had.

What size wrench do the new lug nuts take?

Jeff
