I am going to buy an '06 and I am considering the bucket seats and console but have never seen a 3rd gen with them. Does anybody have one? Do you like it? What are advantages/disadvantages? Thanks in advance, Tom.

Well I wish there was a captians chair option like my chevy's had, with fold down arm rest. Dodge seats are one of the few things I really wish were better.

I've had both, my 99 GMC had the captain chairs and center console. My 05 QC Dodge has the leather bench with folding center console. I much prefer the Dodge bench configuration; the GMC became too confining for me. The center console (read hole) is deep and gets full of clutter and hard to find stuff vs. the divided layout (or not - choice) in the Dodge = more useful. The GMC seats were comfortable and all power but the Dodge's firmness to me, though different, is comfortable too. I can also use the center floor for things like (her purse) briefcase, (new purchases) etc... The center console takes up a lot of useful space, not to mention a third potential seat.

Oh yea, the armrest on the seats of the GMC were low and narrow, the Dodge is higher and much wider and more comfortable (to me) and makes a great platform for other stuff - writing - eating - sitting stuff on - etc etc etc.

Dad's Dmax 2500 has the chairs and center console. For me it is too confining. I like to put my right foot over on the center hump when on road trips with cruise on. I also like the wide armrest of the Dodge bench vs narrow ones on captains chairs. I sat in a 06 Dodge with chairs and console before ordering mine, I still like the bench better even though being a stick shift its rare that someone will sit there. If the bench didn't have any storage in it I might feel differently.

I test drove a Quad SLT with the console last week. I thought the arm rest felt in the right place as not to high or low. I didn't care for the two levels of compartment. One under the other. The lariame looked better due to the fake wood because the black plastic looked cheap on the top finish. It's going to be a hard call for me which one. I know if I go with the lariame it will be console. The SLT will be 60/40. I do think you are giving up a lot more storable space with the console JMO
