I am going to give a try at posting some pics of my new Buckstop bumper and custom built rear bumper. The Buckstop is power coated in gloss black with 3 Pro Comp 8" 130 watt lights and 2 55 watt lights mounted in the bumper openings. I built the rear bumper from 3. 5 x 3. 5 x 3/16 square tube. The frame mount brackets are 8" channel iron. The bumper is also power coated in gloss black.

Here goes with the first try at posting a pic.

Last pic showing rear mounting bracket

Here is the mounting bracket. The 8" channel mounts to the frame with 3 - 1/2" bolts and the bumper mounts to the brackets with 2 - 1/2" bolts. I used grade 8 for all of them.

Great looking bumpers Steve!!!

Did you do anything to your front end to compensate fpr the additional weight?

Great looking pics Steven! Exceptionally nice looking rear bumper. I can't wait to get my front Buckstop mounted, but I'll have to wait for a break in my busy schedule!

I have the snow plow prep package so I did not have any problem with the weight. The front only went down a half inch or less with the new bumper.

Steve-

What springs came with your snow plow prep? I've got double 46's on my 3500, but in addition to the Buckstop bumper, I'll be adding a 138-lb winch. Should help with the front tire wear!

re: which springs

I am not sure which springs came with the truck, other than it had the snow plow prep package, camper package and tow package. I actually stood on the original front bumper and had my wife measure the movement before and after with my weight. Let's just say that my weight is in excess of the Buckstop and the suspension only moved a half inch or less.

So what are you saying Brian? Does this mean that I have to add the Skyjacker 2. 5" coils as well? I would rather not have to change out my fairly new Rancho's with the lift, do you know if this would be required?

They should work. You won't have very much travel before the axle hits the bumpstops, but if you don't bounce it around too much, it'll live. I could bottom mine out too easily with the stock springs with the Ranch Hand before the winch. I'd say just try it with the stock springs and see how you like it.

When I changed springs I was not real happy about buying 2 more expensive shocks, but 1 ended up being shot, so I could'nt even sell or give the old ones away either. Don't forget, new springs probably means new trac-bar too. :p Don't you just love these money pits? Keep talking to me and I'll have you into debt up to your eyeballs. :D
