Thanks for the view. That is a fine looking addition to an already foxy truck. 190# is less than other steel bumps? How does the weight compare with the Denver Offroad Line? What made you choose this Lovely Critter from the field of several good looking but HEALTHY PRICED competing products? OK OK, I cant stand it! I'll be the crass one... HOW MUCH DOES IT COST??? :) . The back bumper looks like a contender also??? $$$$????$$$$ :)

Thanks for sharing your purchase decision thought process.

PS thanks for a wonderful web site. I have learned much and have enjoyed the adventure...

The 03 is 1300. 00 for the front. This includes the bumper, integrated guard, the light holes, and powdercoated your choice of colors. The rear is around 350. 00. It will be available for an 03 in about two months. The bumper is 190lbs over stock... not 190 total. I have had Reunels in the past. They were about 100lbs heavier... . thicker metal. Their prices have soared in the last year to close to 2K for the same type of bumper. I was not happy with the paint... it chipped horribly and looked bad in about 6 months. Powdercaoting should hold up much better. The Buckstop will also hold a 6" light. The Reunel was around a 3". Both bumpers prevent the winch from being removed with the bumper on. There is certainly nothing wrong with a Reunel... they just need to get a little bit more competitive... . CJ

The 2nd gen bumpers were the same price. They took off $120 for the front bumper and $50 for the rear bumper to get them unfinished. Then I found a local powder coat shop ( you can search for ones in your area at http://www.customcoaters.com ) and had them paint them here. That way I didn't have to worry about the paint getting damaged during shipment and was able to pick any color I wanted (they had at least 200-300 different colors to pick from).

Shipping weight for both bumpers was 350 lbs and the front alone is 270. They are WAY heavier than the aluminum bumpers out there. I looked at the DOR and the UTE bumpers (aluminum) and liked the weight but didn't like the look. I was going to have a custom bumper made out of aluminum and had drawn up pictures of it. Then a friend went to the SEMA show and saw the buckstop bumpers out there and told me about them. They looked almost exactly like what I had drawn. I decided that I could live with the extra to save a bunch of money (custom aluminum bumpers would have been BIG bucks). I put 2. 5" Skyjacker lift coils up front to offset the extra weight of the bumper and got the front end up about an inch and a half from what it was with the stock bumpers.

Hmm, nice.

Looks like they even retain the factory tow hooks. I wonder how snow-plow compatible they are? I don't have one now, but I wouldn't mind getting a lighter-duty one in the future to plow my future driveway with.
