End of the world

As with many mergers even if the companies are both viable somebody is going to get the short end of the stick and its usually those who can least afford it. It happens all the time. Some of the folks who plan these mergers probably don't fill their own gas tank or know the price of bread and milk. Also, somebody told me that if the company headquarters is located to the other country the whole tax liability changes in their favor. So we lose again. Just venting . thanks for listening.

Yes it's to bad they sold out apparently there no one in the family that wanted to run the company.

Similar to what happen with the Dodge Brothers when they passed on the company was run by a bank until they sold it to Chrysler.

At least Mr. Busch/family got a lot of money out of it.

Of Beer I stay away from companies I call Octopuses, drank Beer in the USA for 53 years and never did like the national brands, I stick to American Micro-Brews they brew they way it used to be. Before that I bought British brands, when going to Sea we used to call American beers, 'Chemical beers' as I don't believe they used one Hop leaf or flower per Barrel. Regardless wether a product is American or not it can belong to a foreign company. Hershey's chocolate said now being made in China, (watch out for the Lead). 'Death by Chocolate' for sure now.

It is a sad day. One of the few American companies whose products is made in America and uses/consumed by Americans left.
Just wrong

I think if is funny that the media spouts off about Inbev wanting to make AB products more global.

Who in the heck in Europe wants Budwiser? Most Europians would likely rather drink cat pi$$.

Budwiser couldn't even be sold as "beer" in Germany when the Reinheitsgebot (beer purity law) defined the ingredients in beer.

While this law was recently repealed (1987) it existed for 500 years and you don't erase that mentality easily.

I quit drinking thier products many years ago.

If I want RICE beer I'll order something from Japan.

Micro brews!!!

I really like oatmeal stouts.

Grays from wisconsin is very high on my list.

I like Goose Island from cchicago, but Bud bought it a couple of years ago and it became hard to find.

BTW, I haven't had a beer hangover for 15 years!

Rice YUCK.

When I can find it, I like Schell's. Closest thing to Augustiner made this side of the pond.

Ahhh, Augustiner! I must say, I "sampled" many varieties of helles on my last trip to Munchen, and Augustier was my favorite. Admittedly, I'm a microbrew fan and Germany has few really "interesting" beers, just a lot of really "good" beers.

TboneMan I never heard of the German Beer Law being discontinued, I did read that being in the EU owing to the Laws now agreed on, it would have to be dropped but never read of the outcome. Many claim the WTO Word Trade Organization (right?) can dictate to countries who are in it, that is why there is so many people against it, sadly only those in the Know, a country can lose it's Sovereignty.

fox, if you are ever in the UK don't get sick, as if you do a Doctor may give you a Medical Prescription for one bottle a day of Stout, it's claimed to be a great Tonic, my M in L was recommended to drink it but did not like it. It's 'Free' of course. So much for Socialized Medicine, (ought to be at least a 6 pack, say perhaps every other day)

The Reinheitsgebot is no longer a law in Germany (because of the whole EU thing) but most German brewers, at least in Bayern, still adhere to it.
