BUG guard NG

I bought the nose guard for the hooh the make I don't know. It just bolts behind the grille when then you tighten it down. The problem is sand got behind it and started to grind the paint where it is tight against the hood. Any idea's maybe double sided tape so the sand doesn't wedge in there and there is enough room to rinse it out? Thanks! I told the truck place it would do that:{

No Bug Guards are Good

Take it off and stick it in the garage !



No kidding, bug guards are like bed liners... they do more damege than they protect. loose it. Here in MD, every other vehicle is a dumptruck. Just keep your distance.



As for bugs, keep good wax on the truck and some touch up paint for the rocks.

I have OEM guards on both my trucks, they have done absolutely no damage to the paint. The OEM is held away from the hood with about five 1/4" diameter self stick clear rubber bumpers. You can buy the same type of bumper at the hardware store, they are used for feet on kitchen appliances, telephones etc, set you back a buck. My only regret with the bug shields is that I didn't put them on soon enough, the leading edges of my hoods were already getting chipped up. They also do keep bugs off the windshield.

My bug guard does some good, except when I got back to TN in May and the June bugs hit ya! They make you jump when they hit the windshield @ highway speeds.



I like the chrome look of mine.

You got that right on the bed liners I had the truck a week and slide a skid of concrete pavers in to the cab. I took it off my 18' flat bed and place it in the pick. I said I'll just go slow. Then some dumb *%^ cut me off at 25 MPH and I tapped the brakes it drove my gang box into the bed an the bed into the cab . I never even washed it yet. She then proceeded to cut off the tractor trailer that was behind me as he went to pass me. Then took an off ramp and ct off someone else. I think that the Dodge one is better. I really bought it for stone protection.
