Do you think bug-shields do any good to keep stuff from hitting your hood and windshield?
Got a favorite brand?

I'll be repainting the hood and wonder if one of these things is a good idea to prevent all the damage it has had over the years from reoccurring.

TIA!

there is a co that makes a spray on plastic film that seems like it would work...peel it off when your done..seen it on tv..maybe like 3m not the junk as seen on tv stuff

They keep the bottom 1/4 to 1/3 of the widow relatively clear and the rest is still bugged out. The lip is not high enough to really create a good draft over to the top of the windshield.

There are BIG bugs where I live. :)

I'm thinking the clear film stuff would better suit my needs. I really just wan't to prevent new chips to the freshly painted qtr panels and hood.

Some styles will cause your wiper blades to lift off of the glass, not so great when it is raining........

I just got back from Alaska into Montana. And eleven summers driving our '03 over the West. I just can't see where the thing does anything but protect the chrome grill ring behind it. Of course there is never any on the hood as that is parallel to the road. The windshield is bugged top to bottom. Leading edge of roof is also covered. I will say one thing, should it break or whatever, it won't be replaced!

I forgot about the washer fluid missing the windshield, and going over the top of the cab or taking you up side the head if the side window is down a bit......:-laf
