Looking to see if anybody else has tried to accomplish this? And if so do you have any length measurements that might save me some time? Planning on on making a flat board like the old diamond plate ones so if you have any of those mounted on an 03-09 Double cab dually i would really appriciate measurements off of them

thank you

When I bought my 03 new I made some combination nurf bars/running boards. They're made from 3. 5" square tubing and go from just behind the front fender to just in front of the rear fender. They attach to the cab and bed using the bolts that hold the cab and bed on - actually had to buy longer bolts for here. I had them Line-Xed when new and they've held up very well over the years. Everyone who sees them likes them.

I'll have to hunt for some pictures. I had LED lights along the bottom edge of the cab and bed - not on the step bars themselves. Later I took the lights off and had the bottom of the cab and bed Line-Xed in blue to protect my paint from stone and gravel chips. My truck is in the mud and dirt every day for my work and the Line-X really does a great job protecting.

Not sure if this interests you. I had a friend make these for me out of 3" EMT. He used the brackets from my previous WAAG steps. I really like these because they kick out around the dually fenders, makes it real easy for me to reach into the bed.

If interested, let me know what measurements you would like.

Also, the step pads are from the original WAAG bars. They just sat on top of the new bars, I only had to drill holes for the screws that hold them on.

I am wanting to do some "ground effect" style running board... like the old fiberglass ones except im doing mine with metal! bought the metal just this week shouldnt be long now and ill have pictures posted! might be a while on the lights though they are $8 each and need... . well a bunch lol (the wife is not impressed lol)
