WELL, I know SOME folks like that sort of landscape and climate - my parents did, and obviously lots of others do as well - but it's sure not for me, and never was...
I lived there for a year and worked on heavy equipment at 2 am in the morning it was 114 degrees over the mountain was Kingman was a Lot cooler I would live there first.
Bullhead City would be my pick. It's in AZ, taxes aren't bad, it's close to the river, and it's geared for retirement. Yes, it gets hot in the summer. The winters are beautiful though. If you're retired and you get tired of the heat you hitch up the travel trailer and head for the mountains. Lots of snowbirds in Bullhead City. You might also consider Yuma. It's not a bad place to live either, especially for a retiree. There are tons of them there.
I started to write more about Needles and Kingman, but I figure it's better to keep my mouth shut if I don't have anything nice to say .
