Bully Dog chip (malfunction-VIN Mismatch?)

i have a buddy with an 04' 2500. he recently took his bully dog off to update it off the internet. he said that when he put it back in it says there is a VIN Mismatch? he want to know how to reset the ECM.



has anyone had this problem, or know what to do with this situation?

Just had it happen a couple of months ago on my 06. They had to do a recovery program on the triple pup at the place I bought it and then

installed it back in the truck. I let my truck sit in my driveway for 4 or 5 days,came out to start it and it would run for about 3 second then die,it did it with the program install in the truck. What a pain in the a--,it took 3 days before i was able to get my truck running again. Bullydog very hard to get a hold on customer service,on hold alot. Is it a glitch in there programmer??

Sounds like your buddy did not "Return Truck To Stock" before updating the unit.

The Bully Dog tech I spoke with said this problem is fairly common in 06 trucks even if the downloader was properly removed from the previous truck.
