From what I understand, Bully Dog bought a modified fuel pin from Mike (Old Smoky) years(?) ago when he started making them, then went and made their own and started selling them. :-{} So I'm sure they are darn near identical.

I'm running Mikes "pin" and I saw the following: In Sept. 9, 2003 I ran on a Dyno Dyanmics Dyno in Portland OR and put down 325 RWHP. That same month, after installing Mikes pin, I put down 353. 7 RWHP at Piers Dyno Mania 2003 which is a 28. 7 RWHP increase on a slightly modified CTD :D :D :D . I made no other changes and weather was virtually identical. The 40 RWHP number is based on a stock engine.

I tried one out on a short test drive at the 1st Annual Smoke Over Peru last year, and I gained a good amount of bottom end. No noticeable gain on the top, but I was also running a sick pump, and it was just a short run down the county road. With the increased bottom end came no additional smoke, just a grey haze. I think that was due more to the softer spring that the profile of the pin itself.

Also, for the stock vs aftermarket pin, one must consider where the stock pin was- was it in the "leaner" or "richer" setting? Rotating it between the two extremes can gain/lose 25-30hp; 3-4psi boost.

Amen, Bill! Scott ground mine with a Dremel Tool back in January. It took him about 20 minutes and the bottom end increase was VERY noticeable. I don't know how they can justify the price for those things. Of course, I don't know what a new pin costs, so maybe that's part of it.

I have the buuly Dog Pin and going from having the stockat it's richest to the Bully dog at It's richest it improved the bottom end of the truck I got no additional boost egt went up maybe 50 -75 degrees (could"ve just been the day I put it in it was a little warm). I heard the one piers sells is just as good and a little cheaper.

Make your own CGFP :D (Custom Ground Fuel Pin)

Grind a little at a time for the more conservative approach... . a steady hand is needed and some patience.
