Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) Bully Dog / Magna Flow / Other Exhaust

I was thinking about upgrading my exhaust. I saw a Rapid Flow exhaust system from Bully Dog and another one by Magna Flow. I know everyone has talked about some others like the one from Rip. Is there any significant difference between all of these?

main thing to look at is, durrability, if you are around alot of salt or other corrosives, i would def suggest stainless. . i personally chose the magniflow, i liked the look, and i love the sound, nice and quiet when running down the road yet it has a night throaty sound when you get on it. over all i am very happy

I went with the HOG Performance stainless exhaust. It works great & the price was right.

Well, I don't want something that is going to be real noisy.

Depending on what RPM range you run in, it can get noisy.



With my current gearing/tire combo anything above 75 MPH/2,400 RPM is noisy to me. I going to add 35" tires and drop the RPM's a little. Up to the 2,100 RPM mark I don't find it to loud.

I do a lot of hauling cross-country and too much noise can wear on you after being on the road for a week or more. Especially when you try to take one of those quick naps on the side of the road and you have to leave the truck running because it is 30 below outside. The livestock moving around in back is bad enough. I would also like to be able to talk to someone on the phone without too much competition.

magniflow is quiet when running down the road, i have 4. 10s and even at 75-80 its comfortable

I've kinda been leaning towards the magnaflow. I'm basically looking for the performace without the noise. I did the noise many years ago and I've had my fill. The price on the magnaflow for my 2000 seems to be about $450 pretty much everywhere.

FWIW, I am on my second system from Pinnacle Perf (JARDINE). Fit both times was excellent. Corosion is not a prob. in SoCal, so I can not comment on that, although after 4000 mi in Alaska I had no sign of rust. Their muffler is fairly quiet, although the 01 is doing without. Price was competitive. My 0. 02.
