Hey folks,

I just installed a Bully Dog "outlook" box on it. the problem I have is that it sets a Map sensor Code.

P0237 (Map sensor voltage input below the minimum accpetable voltage)

before I had this "outlook" I had one of thier "Torque Dog" boxes that had the switch that changed power settings. the Torque Dog also set the same code, which leads me to think that it might be something other than the Bully Dog thats causing the code. although... ... ... . Its never set the code before I put the Bulley Dog on it, & now with this outlook, Im running it on 0% adder & it does not set the code.

I dunno about any of the other boxes out there, but the Bully Dog products have a jumper cable that you plug the into the map sensor & then another one that you plug into the harness. I would imagine that the box tries to truck the ECM into thinking it has more boost sooner so that it will crank up the fuel. not sure, just a guess.

anythoughts???

thanks guys

Bob

well it was giving me an "overboost" (p234) code when I got into it, so I connected the MAP jumper/shunt in & cleared the code & went for a spin. with the Bully Dog set @ 0% it ran like stink, & did not set any codes. Im worried though that when I set the BullyDog up to some higher HP setting, it might set codes again... ... ... ... ... . :(

I guess if nobody here has any ideas, I need to call Bully Dog & see what they have to say.

Does anyone here run any Bully Dog products???

thanks mucho

Bob

Im not sure exactly when it happens. I will need to try to duplicate it again & see. I would imagine that its higher up @ boost levels, as I drove it around for a little while w/o mashing on it & did not pop the code. It might only be on 100% or 75% or something like that as well. I will have to do some experimentation & see.

I just went to go & move it, there is a puddle of oil under the truck now, so I need to figure out where its coming from. it looks like the front main. :( Im getting a little frustrated with this truck, its gonna find the Auto Trader here real soon if it does not straighten up.

it sounds like the boost fooling (if it has that feature?) is not doing its job, you should probably see the light above 20psi or so.
