Lost this during the "burp". By the way, where were you or what were you doing when the "burp" occurred. I will be upgrading my injectors and have narrowed the choice to Bully Dog Stage II's or DDII's. Most of the posts on this site seem to favor the DDII's. All else being equal, price will be a major factor in the final choice. The Bully Dog website is having a May special on the Stage II injectors. I have a good deal lined up on DDII's, but not quite as good as the Bully Dog. What are the hp gains for both, running in a truck similar to mine? What about smoke? Fuel mileage? TIA.

Stewart Warner Fuel Pressure Gauge with dual senders, Westach Oil Temp Gauge for differential. Rancho 9000's shocks, PowerEdge EZ Box, Amsoil foam air filter and synthetics in the motor and differential. Cummins Power, don't leave home without it

I just installed DDII's in my truck, and have no personal experience with the Bully Dog injectors. So, I can't make a fair comparison between the two products.

I certainly -can- make a fair comparison between the DDII's and stock! The truck has considerably more power, across the entire power band, with the most noticible increase around 1500-2200 RPM (right where I wanted it) with my foot 1/3-1/2 on the throttle. Boost was 17 psi stock, now will run up to 31 psi up a hill!

There is a little bit of smoke with the DDII's if you step on the throttle from a stop, or otherwise go aggressive on the throttle once moving. This is to be expected, and only gets worse as you go with larger injectors. More fuel before the boost comes up results in a big black cloud -- and I may be sadistic for thinking so, but I really like it! P-O the gassers who turn their noses up at my Cummins beast. #ad

Injector installation was fairly straight forward, but I did bruise up my knuckles and cuss at the engine plenty trying to do the #5 and #6 injector line nuts, and the engine hoist ring was -really- tight and hard to remove. Took me about 4 hours of continuous hard labor to do the job. #ad

I say, go for it! Don't forget you need the boost module and boost elbow to make the package work right. W/o the boost module, you're sure to exceed the factory boost limit and set an engine fault code.

I honestly think there will be a big difference in power between the two. I have DDII's and my truck dynoed at 295-300hp more than once. Guys with Bully Dog III's have reported getting close to my level. That probably means a 20hp difference.

I can only speak for the BDIII's. I put them in the "White Obsession" and they added 100+ HP. I really do not think you will notice any difference. Bully Dog stated that I could get as much as 105 HP increase, I am right there. I am really happy with the Bully Dogs.

MikeR,

I'm not sure that we can really classify your injectors as DDII's being the problem DD was having at the time of your purchase. I really feel yours are closer to DDIII's.
