I sent my box back two weeks ago and haven't heard a thing yet.

I am hoping to get it soon. It pulled real hard on level 2. the power was said to be in the ballpark of 140-155. I'll call them today.

Im going to hold out for TST's box. Gives you a lot more control and has more power. When I asked Mark how the seat of the pants was he told me he had it adding 200 ft lbs at 1000 rpm. That got me salivating.

krabman: That's what I like to hear. With 3. 73's and 315 tires, I need low end power more than anything. If I were to do it over, I'd probably go 4. 10's with these tires and the automatic. It's a bit doggy towing at "sane" speeds. . Tow at 70+ and it's great because the rpm's are high enough.

70 is a sane speed. Plus you will get better mileage

Isn't that what 5th gear is for?

This may be what I am looking for, I want to be able to set it for stock or mild in-case other drivers get in, then only for off the wall fun a quick switch that only I can make.

I am concerned about EGT's getting out of control when another driver is at the helm.

I have been looking at the EZ and only now just heard about the BullyDog. Thanks for posting.

I was just looking at their products, pretty cool stuff, especially this:

I really like that idea, you can even program in max levels on EGT's, temps and such so the box backs off, neat idea so that other drivers won't cause some damage.

Only thing is they say its not for towing and I want a little more for towing. Do you think the new box for the 03 will not be for towing also?

Its not out so no one can say for sure cept the folks at TST. Im prettty confident you will be able to tow on the lower levels, as you can with most any of the boxes. The word I got was that it was going to be at 140 hp for the initial release and they are already software complete at that level. That would mean you would likely have a level of power equal to the ez for towing and the ability to crank it up. Also If you have an ez you can stack the TST since it is pulse width and timing but not rail pressure. That really opens up the options for getting max power while keeping egts in check. Anyhow the TST box is hopefully pretty close.

When you say pulse width I assume you mean injector on time so I would think that stacking these components would be kinda scary with drive line twisting, axle snapping, transmission lunching power out puts. While we are on that subject what are your thoughts about power limitations for "stock" drive trains. By that I mean non modified 48RE's and the manuals. Where do you draw the HP/TQ limit for reliability?

I just try and keep informed since Im in the process of bombing my truck, Im not an expert. Peter at SBC told me that roughly mid to upper 300s and you can expect to have a slipping clutch. Thats really the only weak link if you have the 6 speed till you get well up the ladder. I dont recall reading anywhere what a safe hp limit might be for the 48RE, its still pretty early in the game for that one. There are other areas that would need help too if you want to go up to that (stacked boxs) level. What I was saying was it does leave the option open even if you didnt plan on doing it now. I wasnt saying there is anything wrong with the Bullydog box. It may suit many folks needs just fine.

The last run with the bullydog box I ran it on level 3. It was set for 140 hp. It pulled with a feeling of the Edge comp Drag on my 01. Egt's were still very low for that power output. There was a little glitch in the programming. That was a month ago and I sent it back for a final go through. It still isn't back but I guess they have them for sale on their web site. Somewhere in between $740 and $760 is the going price. It seems real fair to me. For injectors and a turbo, to achieve the same power, you will have to

spend well over $2000. I hope it gets here soon. I have a new truck to put it on... ... ... .

I'd have to tow at 75 to run 2000 rpms in OD. The only tow I've made so far was about 6,000 lbs worth of landscape trailer + Jeep and it was a driving rain.
