Just wondering if anybody has a fix for a saggy front bumper? My bumper seems to be sagging and I have a pretty good gap between the body and the rear corners of the bumper on both sides. I see it on almost all of the second gen trucks in my town so it has to be a problem. is there a fix so the gap goes away between the bumper and the body fenders?

Thanks,

Jamie

Most of the front bumper is plastic. Are there any broken tabs holding those pieces in place? Mine wasn't sagging 'til I hit a deer. :-laf Have a real chunk of iron up front now. :D

Just noticed you are from Ca. If the tabs aren't broken, it must be the heat affecting the plastic.

Jamie, the way I fixed mine permatly was to weld a flat washer to the inner lower metal part of the front bumper outer edge. Then I drilled a 1/4" hole in the lower part of the sheet metal that forms the battery box on each side. Go to your hardware store and buy a couple turnbuckles, I believe I used 5/16" ones. Get the type that has a hook on each end. Install one end on the washer on the bumper and the other in the hole in the sheet metal. With the bumper mounting bolts loose, crank up on the turnbuckle to close the gap between the fender and the bumper. Tighten all bumper mounting bolts and there ya go. You can then jump up and down on the corner and it will not move.
