Bumper towing...

I've had my truck for 13-months now, and still having fun! Just a question regarding the stock bumper. What is the maximum weight do you think can be towed with it? I'm just wondering if my truck has not pulled a whole lot of weight in it's lifetime, (is there a benefit in that?). There is just a ball in the bumper, no under the bumper hitch set-up at all. Trailer wiring intact and works well, I only towed a large moving trailer when I moved last summer. Thanks in advance for any response, Patrick.

The bumper may have a rating stamped on it near where the ball goes-if you can't find anything out assume 3500Lbs-5000lbs tops-I've seen plenty of bumpers bent from excessive load-especially ricers-someone else may chime in with exact figures.

Maybe a snowmobile or wave runner or dirt bike trailer. But seriously, not much tongue weight. Tim

mine is 500lbs tongue weight, and 5,000lbs total bumper tow (if I remember correctly).
