Hello,

I'm looking for a nice front bumper that will mount a concealed winch with just the fairlead outside. I've seen a few I like but have no idea of the manufacturer. Do any of you have suggestions/opinions and most important, pictures? ;)

Thanks as always for any help,

Chris

You may want to check out Denver Off Road (very nice aluminum bumpers - also expensive), Road Armor (may have recently been bought by an other company)... . shoot, there are a few more worth looking at but I can't recall right now. Are you looking for steel or aluminum?

Check out my sig for the Denver Offroad bumper. I love mine. I do not have a winch in it (yet ;)) but without the winch it weighs about 135lbs:eek:. It is also rated for a 15,000 lb winch. They use 1/2 inch aluminum in the main channel and the quality is tip top.

Another Good company to consider is Reunel. Also good quality but very heavy at appx 400lbs without the winch. V10Jeff has one and he likes it. (he had to add helper springs though) I have the rear Bumper and it is a well thought out bumper.

Do a search under "winch bumpers" or "bumpers" . There has been alot of good threads on this subject lately. Also look up "pnwradar" (a fellow TDR member) who has some closeup install pics of his Denver Offroad Bumper. And finally look on Dave fritze's site. He has compiled a good list of bumpers for our trucks.

Good luck

I have a Prozap and LOVE it:) I've had mine for about 3 years and I do ALOT of wheeling. I have a Warn M12000 behind it and it works great. Check out Dave Fritz's website under

http://dodgeram.org/rides/13/Tom_P/index.html

and check out the second page. It's only some of stuff I've done over the years (finally got a digital camera:) ).

While the Denver is nice, it's Aluminium (sp?) and won't do well dragging over rocks and bouncing off of them. The Reunel is sweet (thought about one) but you have to mount the winch inside the bumper before you mount it on the truck and the whole deal is VERY HEAVY (about 420 with both) This means if you have a problem on the trail with the selenoids or the winch you have to have the ability to get the bumper off and on. My Prozap on the other hand has a "tray" that mounts to the frame and holds the winch and the bumper mounts to it. Trust me it is quite stout! I've been chasing and winching jeeps with it for a while;)

If you would like some pictures of the bumper and it's mounting let me know. Have digital camera and will play:D

Winch Bumper

Kingram -- I have a inexpensive winch bumper on my '99. This is the second Ram its been mounted on, well over 250k miles. Its made in Lousiana for Entergy, the power company. I expect to be coming through your area Fri 11/18. (I-81 N to I-77N) e-mail me or call at 423-326-2777 if you would like to see it. Mine is NOT for sale, but I can put you in touch with the distributor. Cost was about $325. 00 4 years ago.
