Bumping up the injection pump?

I want to get more power out of my truck, and I heard about bumping up the injection pump or VE pump? What are the steps for doing this so I do not screw anything up as well?

Internal pump timing adjustment?

:-{} Saw this while I was inside doing the KDP-timing marks on the pump gear-what can be done here to improve pump performance-A-E-I am set for the Calif-E-I think and would like to get off of that as I'm in Az-with no testingI know the Pastor doesn't like messing with the EPA adjustments-just asking for myself! Thanks for any answers!
