new Thuren control arms

new Thuren track bar

new Thuren sway bar

08 steering supplied by Thuren

Red Head steering box

new to me Kore Vr coils

new to me Carli mini packs

new to me Bilstein 7100 using new Carli clevis for the front

next round will be Dynatrac free spin with Dynalocks and some new ball joints. would prefer to do Carli but may end up doing dyntrac.

The steering has gotten so bad that my wife does not even want to drive the truck. Also thinking about the Borgenson steering shaft, hoping to do all of this at the same time, some where in the next month or so.

Well just put some miles on most of this stuff. The mini packs and the control arms did not make it in. But carli ball joints went in with the free spin kit. So far so good except the current control arms are an inch longer than stock. On the test drive the port side coil and bucket smashed into the track bar mount on the frame. The short term fix was to bottom out the track bar pulling the axle off to port to gain clearence there. It did solve that problem but now the top of the diff cover is hitting instead. Is not an issue on every little bump just the larger ones. Waiting on the new arms from Thuren. Don has made some changes to the joints. The best way to describe it is softer yet firmer while firmer but softer. The truck does not rattle over things anymore.

When all is said and done, and the problem is fixed, make sure that there is always a "little" something left to do before it is actually finished (wink, wink) as far as the other half is concerned! Kept her out of it this long a little longer wouldn't hurt now would it? :)

My mish mash package is working pretty well. Just got back from a few days in Baja. Towed a boat from San Diego down to San Felipe , brought the trai
Er back the next day. Day after that met up with a bunch of ctd trucks for some fun. The combo of sway bar and control arms is really nice. The front end is free to move without pushing and pulling the chasis. Most of the guys were running pretty big Carli stuff with a couple Thuren trucks. Watching a brand new 6. 7 truck flying through the air at 80 was pretty cool. I am pretty happy with how my truck is working. It is a stable pavement ride with a moderate dirt capabilities. Just need to remember to not over drive the shocks. Don't worry it will be a long slow project with plenty of future upgrades.
