Hello everyone,

This past Saturday, my kids begged me to do a burnout(no really), so i did, and now the truck takes 3-5 seconds to go into reverse and drive. If i leave it alone, it will drive for 45-120 seconds and then act like its in neutral. The only way i can drive the truck is in 3rd gear. I just had it completely rebuilt, um, about 6x times because the trans shop was too lazy to say the valve body was cracked. WTF is going on? please...

try locking it in 1st w/ the ERS and let it shift to 2nd @ 10mph, does this let it go?

I bet you broke the overrunning (sprag)clutch.

So if you put it in "3" (at a stop), it will shift fine 1-2-3 and drive fine? But if you try "4" it will neutral out when it hits 4th gear? Sounds like a fried OD clutch, but that should not affect the Drive and Reverse engagements. Are the long engagements only first thing in the morning, or even when the truck is warmed up?

Whats the ERS? It is still doing the same stuff. Shift from park to reverse, 10-20 second delay. Reverse to drive, 15-20 second delay. Only drives in 3rd gear. Going to staple my nuts to the fence and do full ATS with copilot. FML

ERS = Electronic Range Select. It's the buttons on the shift lever that allow you to manually limit the highest available gear.

With those long delays (and only 3rd gear) something is seriously wrong. Do you have any fault codes?

Man has got to pay to play.

Friend was stuck with his cattle trailer loaded. His buddy that had opened the gate told him to put it in 4WD Low and floor it. His buddy didn't pay for the repairs.
