Hello to all



The biggest thing about putting gasoline in oil be it vegetable oil or engine oil would be the Octane sure the gas is dry and has no lube to it but really the new diesel (ulsd )is dry not like gasoline but a lot dryer than then the oil diesel of pre 1995.



Octane is the issue thats why you don't use the so called good unleaded gas of today 91 octane you use the 87 OR LOWER and if you can find old gas that has been sitting for some time it works even better. GAS RV'S AND BOATS AFTER THE WINTER WOULD BE JUST FINE TO USE.



The blend I use is this 3 gallons of gasoline per 40 gallons of vegetable oil this is the July Aug blend this is down from 4 gallons April May June Oct Sept 5 Gallons Feb Mar Oct Nov 6 gallons Dec Jan ,SO FROM 7. 5 TO 15 % GASOLINE IN THE BLEND. Yes I have run 20 % gasoline it ran fine louder than running reg diesel but when its 30 below you got to do some thing.



I have heaters on the fuel tank /pump/ lines so I dont need the higher amounts of gasoline in the fuel I use. the blend for summer 4 gallons per 40 gallons of oil and winter blend of 6 gallons per 40 gallons of oil. this is a safe place to start.



the engine oil with gasoline in it sounds like a good fuel to me the only thing I would do is centrifuge the oil and make sure its clean. then run a specfic gravity test on the oil with a set amount of gasoline in it if its close to diesel then you should be fine to thin then you will need to adjust the gasoline.



if you really wanted to be right then have the oil tested to find out the cetane in the fuel and adjust it also. this is in the works for my fuel I just need the money for testing.



Remember all fuels have Octane and Cetane in them Yes Diesel has Octane in it its just a really low number and the same for Gasoline it has Cetane but its also a low number. Adjusting the cetane number is easy it just hard to get it right.

These two products are different



ethanol is the repacement for gasoline e85 is 85 % ethanol and 15 gasoline

bio diesel is the repacement for diesel B 20 is 20 % Bio diesel and 80 % diesel



ethanol can be used for making biodiesel but its replaces the methanol in the blend for cracking the vegetable oil in to the oil esters. no one uses it because you need 100 % pure ethanol and you use more of it. Its not easy to buy you can make your own its called white lighting. Moonshine plus one more step to get all the water out of the brew. the southern boys can helps us out here!!!



the ethanol you get from the plants will be denatured you will die if you drink it they blend it with methanol to do this.



but as far as running used engine oil saves dollars and it makes cents to me (pun intended)

I am contimplating 30% ATF / 70% Diesel filtered to 10m with the rest picked up by the fuel filter. have not read too much about 3rd gens & waste oil.

I would say "no", especially if it has a catalytic converter.

I thought about WVO in my '03 (no cat) but am concerned about the computerized injectors and fragile transfer pump. I run all kinds of mess through my '96 with no problem but the 12 valve fuel system is damn near bulletproof.
