Burning Veggie Oil

I read an article about using pure filtered cooking oil in a separate tank to run the truck. The gist of the story was to start on regular diesel and then switch to cooking oil and then back to diesel before shutdown??? With diesel here in the sunshine state hitting $2. 40 a gallon all is tempting. :{

There was an article in the TDR about this a couple of years ago I think. According to the article you didnt even need a seperate tank and the trk ran just fine on vegie oil. Have you priced a whole gallon of veggie oil lately? Around or over 5 bucks here. pluss the inconvienience of oppening 20 some bottles of the stuff and pouring it in one gallon at a time. Interesting thought tho. If they started selling enough of it maybe the price would go down and we wouldnt have to rely on Arab oil any more. We could tell them to go drink their oil.

I think you can process animal fat into biodiesel too. . If you could get a plastic surgery clinic to save all of their liposuction fat... ... Soylent Diesel!

bio diesel is the true solution, plus it lubricates better and quiets our trucks down significantly.
