Just got my first oil change. Took it to the dealer because they sent me a free coupon. I think this will be my last trip to them.

Without a coupon it would have cost me $75. 69!!!! This seems unreasonable, but maybe I am wrong. How does this price sound? I am located in Bloomington, Indiana.

Also, noticed at idle with the heater on, I smelled burnt oil in the cab. Is this normal? I assume they spilled some. In fact I know they did, I saw it all over the front end. I would think they would attempt to clean it up some.

Not only this but they left a hairnet, seat cover, and floor mat protector in there. This really upset me. I wonder if I should call them and polietly complain. Would this do me any good?

I also asked them to look at the door rattle, but they said they couldn't find one.

Oh well, just felt like venting a little. I am not so much mad, but dissapointed. You would think when you spend $35K on a truck, they might do a little better job.

Thanks for listening,

Dave

PS. Can't wait to attend the Dyno Day in Indianapolis:D Better leave my wallet at home though.

Mine smelled bad for the first 500 miles after I changed it with Rotella, the Delvac did not seem to be as noticable. It could be they spilled some on the engine but it is probably the new oil.

I would complain about the other stuff, I took my wifes car in for service and when I got it back it smelled like gas and oil and they got oil/grease on the cloth door panel. They included a copy of the survey I would receive in the mail with it highlighted how they wanted me to fill it out, they said if I could not put totally satasfied in all catagories to call the service manager and let him know why. I called and they said bring it back and we will detail it and give you a loaner car while we do it, they did and it came out mint, depending on the dealer it may be worth compaining.

Lots of people say that about Rotella. Some like the smell, some don't. I never noticed it myself.

Considering you can do it yourself for about $25, I would say that $75 is a little high. Buy the supplies and DIY! If you just have to spend the money, take the wife out to dinner on the $50 you saved. ;)

I probably would not go back. Any place which makes that many visible mistakes, you have to ask yourself, how many invisible mistakes did they make! For instance, did the moron who left the garbage behind also accidently spill some dirt or other nasty substances down the Oil Filler neck? Makes you wonder.
