burnt tail light frequently

I have an 03 and the back right tail light keeps burning out. I remember this thread being on here a long time ago but can't seem to find it. Anyway i believe the problem was just something simple but can't seem to remember what. Any help would be great guys. thanks

Replace the socket assy also,

Seems to me there's an updated socket assemby that keeps this happening.

I had the same thing happen to my 03. Took it to the dealer and they replaced the socket assembly. Apparently the old assemblies dont last. I think there is a TSB on this issue but most dealers know about the issue and can get you back on the road pretty quick. Good luck!

If water gets in there from a cracked lens, it will do that as well.

One way to avoid the frequently blowing bulb in this case is to coat the brass portion of the bulb with a light coating of grease. It works great for boat trailer lights and stops the corrosion inside the socket.
