I installed the Solid Steel adjustable track bar and 3rd gen bracket in summer of 2010. Last spring I installed a 2 inch lift kit from Lorenz, and adjusted the track bar to the longer length.

In the past few months, my death wobble problems have come back. I checked all my suspension parts, and saw that the trackbar has developed a burr on the upper (frame-side) end. This burr ripped up the rubber bushing, and the trackbar is no longer tight in the bracket.

I figure I can take out the trackbar, grind the surface flat, and reinstall with a new bushing. Is this acceptable, or so I need a new trackbar?

I would be looking into what is causing the burr. I would think its gotta be rubbing on something. Could it be from the bushing wearing out excessively? It should have lasted longer than 2 years unless you put a ton of miles onyour truck. Have you had an alignment done since you put your lift on?

Lifting the truck will change the front to rear location of the front axle. This can be addressed with the correct length arms. I have never installed the ss bar only there bracket so I can't comment much further with out seeing the truck

I had an alignment after installing the lift. However, I never even thought about the control arms. I figured since it was just a 2" lift I could put off installing longer control arms. But that makes sense that the angle of the axle changes so the track bar wouldn't be in the socket exactly parallel anymore. This could cause rubbing on the track bar, making the burr.

I plan on filing down the burr and replacing the bushing tomorrow just to make the truck drivable. I was looking on Geno's Garage for replacement 3rd gen track bars, and it looks like the Synergy Suspension and Thuren Fabrication track bars both adjust differently than the Solid Steel track bar. Although I don't plan on lifting the truck anymore, so I'd like to get a track bar that is just the correct length. Does anyone have experience with these track bars?

Both the bars you are looking at came out of the same design concept as the Carli that I use,as a matter of fact Sage was bending bars for Thuren for a while. I think the diff between brands will be in the bushings being used. My track bar hes been untouched for years on the 05. I went cheap on my 94 and just used a like new take off factory 3rd gen. That being said the oem bars are not quite the right angle at the frame side and harder to install. If i had to buy one today I would buy a Carli for my 94 as well

I have a 2" lift and a BD 3rd gen adjustable track bar. I have had no issues at all. I do need longer control arms to recenter the wheels in the wheel well though.

You don't need another track bar, you need adjustable control arms. The lift has moved your axle back and now the track bar is out alignment, plus, you caster is off and attack angle on the ground has chnaged. Perfect recipe for DW.

The Synergy control arms from Genos look like a nice piece. Thats the only way to fix the steering and suspension geometry now.
