Rock hit the drivers side fog light, busted the lens. You have to buy the whole fog light. $117. 00 bucks. Does anybody make a aftermarket cover ? coobie:D

Rock busted one of mine last year. After replacing it, I picked up a headlight protection kit form Genos and applied the stick-on protection on the fog lamps per the instructions. Works great and so far so good.

If it makes you feel any better, my dad had the same thing happen to his Nissan Pathfinder. Had to replace the whole light housing, the lens is bonded to the bulb holder. $125. What a racket these dealers have.

Don't blame the dealer on that one... that's a manufacturer design issue. It's cheaper for them to buy self-contained assemblies. Your dealer's service department would much rather fix a real problem than change a light.

Heck the wifes Durango's was $127 and yes what a racket!!

Fog Lamps !!

I had the lens broken on mine before it had 1-K miles. Yes the dealer price is an ouch, and they are Hellas. I did as GLOlas did and ordered the kit from Genos for the Fog and for the Head Lamps. It seems that we were sold a kit for installing new lights on a truck that did not have them.

Headlight protection

There are all kinds of headlight protection coverings out there. Check Geno's first (obviously), then take a look at Sporty's. Any of 'em work well and are worth the money.

I did the same as klenger, I didn't order them. A friend of mine has a Durango and told me of the high replacement cost, so I said forget it. I've had a few cars over the years that had fog lights and they never really seemed to do much of anything. My truck is now due in on 4/16/04 as per Insight website - gained 4 days already.

Fog lights, yes or no?

Fog lights are like a winch: you don't need it until you need it and then you're damn glad you got it. I live in Colorado where the sun shines 300 days a year. But I have also driven in heavy snow a couple of times at night (once for 3 hours) and can tell you the fog lights were invaluable. It's whatever turns your crank. I wouldn't special order a set, but I did special order my truck and made sure fog lights were included.

Along with every other available option, I might add. :)
