I am interested in the purchast of a new ram 2500 4x4 325/610. The dealer was telling me on the phone that he had one 2005 6 speed left with a button on the dash board to engage 4x4. My question to you guys is "is there a nutral position on that button like a floor 4x4 lever?" Hi 2x4,Hi 4x4, nutral, and Low 4x4. I think nutral would be an important feature for the use of a PTO right. Is that button a good reliable way to engage 4x4? In advance thanks.

It has all the normal positions including neutral. I have had no problems with mine so far, and it is convenient. I was an electronic shift anti at one time, but I had to get it with the Laramie package. I enjoy it now.

Not sure about the 2005's, but my 2004. 5 does not have a neutral position on the switch (rotary switch) per se. In order to put the TC in neutral you need a paper clip or something similar to hold down a small button next to the rotary switch while the ignition key is turned on (or something like that). Kind of a pain in the a** if you ask me. In any case the neutral position on the TC is not needed for the PTO, you simply leave the transmission out of gear.

On Edit: OK was just thinking, the truck I have has the NV5600 and the PTO is on the transmission so this may not apply to the G56 transmission. Does the G56 have a transmission PTO or is it a TC PTO?
