Never owned a Ram. Want to buy a 2013 3500 Longhorn with all options except DVD in Back seat and sunroof. Have not shopped for a vehicle in 8 years. Do the dealers really have a Internet department and can you really save any money? I have contacted a couple of dealers via the Internet and from the response I got, I think it is probably pot luck who answers you. I had 2 different sales people call me. From one dealer. The second caller didn't know I had been contacted. It appears that all of the salesman read the Internet request and whom ever sees it first is the first to call. I really don't like to haggle. I would like to get several quotes and order a truck. Any help/advice would be appreciated.

I made a deal over the internet for my Chrysler 300 last year, but when i got to the dealership, the salesman didn't have any idea about our deal on the internet, said the internet salesman was gone and didn't have the authority to make such a deal ,make sure you get to talk to the same person that you deal with on the internet, so i had to start haggling all over again, but i finally got my price in the end, Good Luck, Monte

There are many ways to buy a new one, all much cleaner and easier if you buy outright with no trade.

Any dealer in America is should be willing to sell a new one at invoice. They still make a large profit. Even selling at invoice minus any incentives the dealer will receive a 3% (of invoice price) holdback plus various unspecified mfr. to dealer incentives depending on many things such as numbers sold, time of year, desirability of unit sold, etc.

Don't want to haggle? Use a buying service like Costco, USAA or the likes. You can also check with your employer to see if you can get Chrysler Affiliate (F&F) pricing or join an organization like Tread Lightly to get the affiliate discount.

As for a dealership having an internet sales department ... . that depends on the dealership. Some do, some just have their fleet manager handle such and others just give the leads to their regular sales people...

BTW, Chrysler F&F pricing is 1% below invoice + available rebates. Find the right dealer and you can get that easy, but you have to haggle... If you're good at haggling and/or live close to a volume dealer, you can do even better.

It depends where you are, if your in the left side of the country give Ed West a call, or email at Dave Smith Motors, a treasure of a way to buy

I bought my truck on the internet from DAVE SMITH MOTORS in Idaho and it was a pleasure, no haggling and will do it next time too ! The lowest price by far than anyone in ca. fwiw.

Yeah,Dave Smith all the way. I ordered mine over the phone. A salesgal at Jack Powell in Escondido recommended them after visiting their store in Kellogg,Idaho. Aside from the obligatory push for the service contract, everything was stress free.

Thanks to all for the info. I live in Ga. ,South of Atlanta. I might consider going to Dave Smith if I can't get a good deal around here. That would solve the 500 miles before towing, and might be fun, I have never been to ID.

I have bought two using the internet to find the best deal. You will get lots of come on adds and most of it won't end up being of any value to you but if you tough it out you can save some big dollars. Got the first one in Bartlesville OK. at Mark Roberts(not there any longer)and second one in Baton Rouge La. at Salisbury Dodge on Ailine drive. bg

:DT. T. try steve white motors in hickory nc. bought 2 vehicles over internet and telephone sight unseen, gave me 300. 00 for plane ticket. picked me up at charlotte airport . drove them home to CT. I am happy, wife is happy:-laf

The internet is a great way to buy one now.

A little over a year ago my wife wanted a Honda Pilot. She insisted it had to be the top of the line 4wd Touring model and had to be Pearl White. I tried to buy one from the local dealer knowing it would likely be a wasted effort. They found one they thought they could dealer trade for but wouldn't tell me where it was. I couldn't make a deal with them so came home and sent about 30 form emails to Honda dealers from AZ to MS including CO, OK, and AR on a Sunday. On Monday I started receiving emails and phone calls from most of them. I received a call from a salesman in Wichita Falls who was sending a black car out to trade with a KS dealer for the only Pearl White available anywhere in the system because the KS dealer wanted the black one. I was not able to get much of a discount off MSRP because they knew it was the only one in the computer inventory and was wanted but we bought it over the phone.

I got some ugly looks at the local Honda dealer when I took it to them for service.

In the age of internet communication and easy travel its silly to waste time with a greedy local dealer.

I've purchased three vehicles using the internet. I usually get quotes from several area dealers. Those who refuse to give me a quote I skip all together. I've bought my 2004. 5 Dodge ram, 2009 Honda Accord 2010 Dodge ram and recently a used car. The other three were purchased new. I got great prices and no hassel when I arrived at the dealer with my print out. The honda dealer made a 1000. 00 mistake by offer me a 1K rebate that didn't exist. But since it was in print they honored it. Just make sure you do your research and skip any dealer that requires "an internet fee" or wants to talk to you instead. Good luck. When those dealer(s) I skipped contact me I let them know the reason I skipped them, i. e. prices to high or refused to give me a quote ect. I found this a more efficient way to shop. I don't have to drive all over and don't have to waste time at a dealer. But on the flip side the last dealer I dealt with (used vehicle) attempted to charge with with an internet fee and some will say anything you want to hear to get you to come in. They receive a fee from the dealer when you come in. But this dealer would'nt give me a price on the internet so it was my fault.

We bought our 2010 Dodge CTD from Steve White Motors in Hickory, NC over the internet. We traded in a '04 Dakota with them in the deal. Drove the Dakota downfrom NH and drove the new truck home. They were a pleasure to deal with. Our local dealer were complete a**holes about dealing. Should have seen the look on their faces when my wife asked about getting the paper manuals!!:-laf

Use internet and local. Local will dealer will come close to the other dealers. I have done this on the last two I bought. I got killer deals without haveing to travel. But the travel sounds nice to get to know your truck.

I've bought several vehicles from Jasper Dodge Chrysler Jeep Ram in Jasper, GA over the years. In fact, I ordered one that I spec'd out and had to wait on from the factory. They are a no-hazzle dealer working on a set "handling fee". If you're a veteran you can use USAA, which I can also highly recommend. ED

Mrs. H. B. has good taste, that is a great car and the best color there is

Thanks, Ron. She likes the car.

I don't like Pilot's.

I was sitting still waiting for traffic on I-5 and a older lady rear ended me at 30mph I was in my 98 12V Ram. She hit so hard that the seat belt broke her sternum. Her air bag did not go off even tho she hit me dead center she was nose diving on impact. I still hurt from that little Honda!
