Engine for the 2003 Ram 2500 & 3500

My RAM died (sort of)!!

Talking to a customer from upstate with late model 2500 chevy gas. Said he didn't want the duramax in it. He has seen a lot of new duramax owners put "for sale" signs on the trucks after a few hundres miles of driving them. #ad

It seems that I've been seeing a few used ones for sale in the S. I. Trader for only 39,000 #ad
no thanks . My only question is if they're so great then why are they for sale.

I have seen 7 duramax's on the lots used, and all but one was on ford and dodge lots! All that I have looked at were auto transmission trucks too. One of these days when I have a little time I will drive one to see what they are like.

Watch out boys. Them guys on the Cheby sight don't like us dissin' their Duralax. They want proof out of us when we say something. We'll have to sneak over there and see if they believe this or not.

You've got THAT right! Sometimes I think they spend more time reading stuff HERE than they do their OWN site - THEN they run bawling to their buds "(SOB), those nasty evil Dodge/Cummins guys are PICKIN' on our trucks again, (sniffle)"

I go to the Ford and GM sites to LEARN what I can about competing brands - competition is GOOD! I have NO problem doing a bit of give-and-take with the Ford guys - they are a great bunch, and have confidence in THEIR trucks just as WE do ours - they easily take it as well as they dish it out, and *I* respect them for that. The GM guys aren't like that, THEY can't STAND even the SLIGHTEST criticism or negative comment - and kill off posts or users who DARE not join in on the GM cheerleading...

I wonder how they expect to get honest and truthful exposure to inevitable problems as they occur, as well as info on how their problems are being handled by dealers if they insist on censoring posts and deleting users asking questions dealing with problems, or potential buyers with honest questions and concerns?

God knows the truth WILL out, just as it has with Dodge's too frequent transmission problems, GM's crappy older diesels, including the converted SB 350 V8's, and the Ford diesels with the "cackle" problems - this stuff WON'T just go away because THEY censor it, it will just show up somewhere else - meanwhile, THEIR members are kept in the dark as to the problems AND the fixes for them! #ad

Keeping up with product advances, problems and fixes is EXACTLY why *I* am here, and I will be one of the FIRST to complain if OUR administrators or moderators try to take it upon themselves to "protect" me from exposure to problems with my truck! #ad

I have enough confidence and trust in MY truck that I can laugh at the occasional insults THOSE guys toss at our trucks, and not feel the SLIGHTEST bit threatened... Wonder why THEY are so obviously insecure, and feel so threatened by OUR trucks and owner comments? Could it be that while they CLAIM they have the "best and most powerful trucks", they REALLY know better, and are checking HERE to see how far behind they REALLY are? #ad

PERSONALLY, I wish they would GROW UP and act like adults - *I* sure hate to share the road with a bunch of insecure wimps and crybabies... #ad

maint. man, My thoughts exactly! If they are so great why are they selling trucks they just bought.
Honest this was from a chevy man. Apparently in his neighbor hood or close by.
As for the guys from the chevy site let them grin and bare it.
As I recall what I been reading the computer on the auto's keep the engine egt down by not letting the trans shift out of fourth when pulling on a hill. What a waist of a 300hp/500 tq engine.
