I know that this is one of thoose topics thats reguarly talked about but I need to upgrade from the stocker and wanted to know what brands are the best for the money. Since I know you can spend a fortune on both of theese but I would like the best bang for the buck type deal. Also can I get all of the internails that are used for the trans upgrade and have compenent trans shop put them in for me and have a good stout trans? Also what type of converter should I buy one that lowers the stall speed or one that increases it? I mostly use my truck for commuting and do some light pulling with it. Small machines (bobcats, etc) every now and then, small enclosed trailer, little plowing, and things of that nature. I really dont work the truck all that hard to give you an idea. - Thanks

Sounds like you need to give Dave Goerend a call. It took me a long time to decide where I was going to spend my money on a TC/VB upgrade. I took the advice from alot of people here on the TDR. I called up Dave and it just felt like he knows what you need. You can't beat his lifetime warranty either and plus he doesn't even charge you for your core. He just expects you to send it when your ready. Great customer service.

I'd go with a DTT or Goerend's. I've been very happy with my DTT compared to one of the other leading aftermarket transmission builders. I'd rather not mention the companies I've had problems with since I don't want to get a flame war going.

CurtisM,

You can take your $$$$$ anywhere.

But Dave has my vote for before, during & after the job was done. he will talk to you to find out what you need now & are going to need in the future.

this will save you $$$$ in the long run.

I am completely satisfied with Dave's work & value for my $$$

I doubt you could go wrong with any of the major upgraders. The service makes a big difference as with anything else. Where do you live?

Call Dave Goerend 563-778-2719, I bought my Goerend stuff over a year ago and he still returns my calls, on saturdays, evenings, and I got one returned on Xmas Eve!!!Talk about customer service!!!

i am in hagerstown and i have a full DTT. any of the major companies are great, i chose DTT after doing some research and riding in one. This is actually the second trans i bought from them. do some research and pick the right one for you. josh
