Does anyone have any experience buying salvaged cars/trucks from these online auctions?

In looking to buy a truck purely for the engine and related components for an engine swap in an older pickup I have.

For what you will pay you might be better off searching craig's list I have found some nice truck's for good prices lately the auction house's make sure the prices are high that is not saying you can't find a deal but few and far between.

Paperwork fees are about $200, depending on the price of the vehicle, so you want to figure that in. Then there's a fee for loading onto your trailer or whatever. My buddy just bought a Case skidsteer on Copart, an 1840 with 1017 hours on it for $3800. It needed a seat and a battery. It was stolen, and recovered just after the insurance paid and the owner bought a new one. It was listed with 10,174 hours on it, they listed it with the tenths as a full digit. He got a smoking deal, the thing is in great condition. Just keep your eyes open, and and if it's close enough you can go look at them too.

If you looked at the pics of it, it showed the hour meter quite clearly, so he knew what it had. But if you didn't look... ... ... .
