Any CO fly fishermen?

My wife got to play barber tonight with the elect. clippers! She did a great job too, first time! Think I'll upgrade to a Flobee... Heh heh. And for what it costs to get a cut these days I don't think I'll pay to have it done ever again. The cost for a family of three adds up over the course of the year, myself and my son can handle the home jobby, but I doubt I could convince wifey to let me cut hers...

i cut my own, 1/4" all over any time i want it for free :)
Me too. But I don't use any attachment and set the head as short as possible. ~1/16", I think.

Saved a fortune in haircuts over the years. A few years back I went to a barber just to get the hot shaving cream back-of-neck shave. $14 it cost me! Ridiculous! Never again.

Do you realize that many men today actually go to the salon? At least, most of the guys I work with do. $30 or more for a haircut!

And while we're discussing hair, has anyone else noticed what an incredible amount of goo young men put in their hair? I think it's "mousse". Now I know how my father/grandfather felt about my hair when I was a kid.

Same here as close as possible. I've been shaving my head for five year and love it. I will never goto the salon and barber again.

I say the same thing to people, and I've heard the exact same thing from every person I've ever known with a shaved head.

I haven't purchased a bottle of shampoo in 11 years.

Just say no to hair. :)

i mulled over doing the cueball a few times but i figured hell i am ugly enough already :-laf being blond it looks shorter but i am almost never outside without a cap so it doesn't really matter, and it gives a little cushion when i smash my head into the lift when under a car at work #@$%!

my 5" goatee didn't make into the shot

i have been cutting my own for a few years now also. i recently just started with the razor and going completely bald.

I always cut my own. Use a 1/2" rake attachment and do a "army deja vue" same length all over the cue ball. When I occasionally get to Bozeman my wife trims the backside ragged edge for that Sunday -go-to-meetings look. :)

I've been cutting my own hair since '92. 1/2"-3/4" all 'round, then use the smaller attachments to neatly taper it, and no attachment to do the final edging and tapering. Of course, with darker hair (well, it's not all gray/white just yet), the edges do need proper trimming. My hair always looks fine from that short to 4" long through the winter. Sometimes my hair cutting is regular, and sometimes not: whenever time and desire happen to meet. So I look like someone from a Marine badly needing a trim to Grizzly Adams, and anywhere in between.

$20 for a set of clippers/shears and haircuts all around when we need them. I use no attachment. I can set the clippers for very short or just really short. I use really short then the 1/8" for the mustache. Easy, no going to the barber. Kids get it in the summer whether they want it or not.

Yeah, I stopped going when my barbor got upto $10. Kind of ticked him off, since he lives across the street. Now its just a razor every few days, for the last 3 years.

I buzz my own and I look a little scary. 1/8" all around. Sure beats paying $14 for a cut! I paid $11 for the clippers about 6 years ago. That's money well spent!

I am in the same boat too... . got sick of the barber whining how about how he makes no money:rolleyes: and yet he drives a new Harley and a new truck. My wife shaves mine with a #1 about every other week. The determining test if I need a haircut is whether or not the toilet can be scrubbed with my head:-laf:-laf

You guys with hair, you don't know what you're missing! No salons, no barbers, no hair goo, no shampoo, and the women flock around like geese!

I use a "WAHL" clipper and a #3 in the winter and a #2 in the summer. Been cutting my own hair for several years now. Wife won't let me cut the 5 boys hair so we still pay $50 or more a month in haircuts.

#2 guide on the clippers is what i cut my hair with. i am lazy and it gets clipped when the beanie i wear under my hardhat at work doesn't fit anymore, usually every 2 months. but my hair is starting to go away on its own so when my head looks like homer simpson's hair, it will get the razor treatment

I'm starting (well, I guess I'm just seeing it-- I'm told it's been there a bit :-laf) to get the same back/top of head bald spot my dad and brothers have. I'm thinking of buzzing it all off, but I worry about sunburn. I'm about a twice a year haircut guy, and it always gets me a bit around the ears and neck. (I ALWAYS wear a cap)

Maybe buzz close and and break it in slowly?
