I finally located the buzz I hear when the truck is cold, it's coming from the cowling around the steering column. Can someone who's installed a gage pod on their column tell me how this housing comes apart before I have to break down and read the instructions in my manual?

TIA

Scotty

There are two screws that hold it together. You reach them from underneath. I believe they are torx head but I don't remember for sure. Once those are out the top half can be separated from the bottom. I recall the bottom half staying in place when I was installing my gauges so there may be another screw or more that holds it in place.

Mine does the same thing. Once you get all of the screws removed from the bottom, tilt lever pulls straight off. Then the column covers will seperate and come off. I have yet to try to fix mine but is sure can be annoying. Mine stops if you slightly push on the bottom cover upward.

I didn't have to remove the tilt lever to get the top half off. Maybe with an automatic it might be necessary but it wasn't with a manual.

Thanks for the info guys. I saw those two rather odd looking torx screws but was afraid they were for something more than just removing the cover, I'll give it a try.
