I have a drain hole, but tired of the soot baths. Problem solved. I know they have caps for the miters, but I think they look stupid, and cost almost as much as the stacks do.

Used a 7" chop saw blade in the circular saw to cut the miters off. Worked pretty good.

Bought the chrome caps through the local John Deere dealer.

looks good..... Oo. the rain caps for the miters are a bit salty, and i do agree with ya they look kinda funny! i'll soon be ditchin my miters for some bull haulers... .

You need to rotate the caps to one side or another to make them open from the side. If you run them in there current position, you will create excessive back pressure. The force of the on coming wind will force them closed.

Not really, they are weighted so when you are running or idling they will open easily. The main reason for running them the way he has them is so if you were to hit or catch on to something like a wire or a branch they will close easily and not cause any damage. If you turn them around and get cought on something it will pull them open, and possible even pull down the stack. Just about everybody that run rain caps or flappers run them this way.

There is no change in EGTs or boost levels, cruising, or otherwise.

They do make a tinking noise at low RPMs/idle, but they will be BOMBed shortly. ;)

How much do you want for the mitered stacks?

Thanks for the compliments guys. :) I like how they turned out, too. Not something you see much anymore, even on the big trucks.

Awesome!

I've wanted a single 5" flat top w/rain cap for a long while now.

Got any more pics?

No pics yet. Just got some batteries for the camera. I think a single flat top and rain cap would look great on your truck. :D
