Several members have asked me to post pictures of my Oilguard bypass filter installation. I hope these are helpful.



Because of the 32K image restriction on this website, I've posted these images on my own server.

Picture 1 is the general installation.



Picture 2 is the same except that you can see where the oil hose attaches to the filter mount.



Picture 3 is a better view of the mount I made to attach the filter to the side of the battery mount.



Picture 4 shows the hole in the block (passenger side rear, just above the oil pan) that I used for the oil return line as viewed from under the truck.



Picture 5 shows the same as Picture 4 but viewed from the engine compartment looking down to the rear of the block.

Jpark--is there a plugged port already in the block at that location, or did you drill and tap something?

by-pass filter mount

The picture below shows a mount which attaches to the existing alternator bracket as another way to mount a by-pass filter.

There is a plugged port already there. Use a screwdriver to pry out the aluminum plug.
