Does anyone have any info on bypassing the "lawyer" screen that prevents you from accessing the navigation system while the truck is in motion? I am on a road trip in a friends 2004 CTD truck. Thanks for any help or info.

There used to be someone on ebay that was selling a disc that bypassed the screen. I took a quick look and couldn't find anything right now.

You can always access your favorites and the first few closest listings for generic categories.

Get an aftermarket system. If improperly installed you can access it to your heart's content while the truck is in motion.

The improper installation consists of faking out the wire that's hooked up to the brake pedal so that it thinks the brake (or is it e-brake?) is always active. I'm not sure how the stock nav is wired up, but it is at least theoretically possible that you might be able to do the same thing on a stocker.

I have the CD on my truck with a program that think the truck is not in motion. I can change NAV setting at any speed. :) Very convenient.

and that convenient option came from ...

Having to pull over so that the wife can change the destination or settings is unconvenient and not always practical.

With a donation to his cause, he wrote a program for me. Probably not safe if you miss with the Nav while driving. My wife or my son always do the programing while the truck is moving.

Enough teasing! Please share with us the party that I need to contribute.
