I put an LFS-802 on my truck. The 802 is equivalent to the OilGuard 60. The reason I went with the 802 is as long as I was going to do it, I wanted it to filter as much as possible.
I put mine in the bed pocket behind the driver. It is a long hose run, but I could not find a place up front large enough I was happy with.
The oil filler return cap that OilGuard sells is an excellant way to get the oil back into the engine. I also time the amount of time it takes to fill 1 quart with the oil return so I can see how used the 802 filter is. Mine times out at 60 seconds new. The oil flow is not a high pressure stream on the return, just a nice gentle flow.
There is a thread on TDR (
https://www.turbodieselregister.com/forums/showthread.php?t=109166) by Gary - K7GLD about extended oil changes that I am participating in to see how the oil will test (OA) over time. I am like you, I want cleaner oil, but I also want to see what the oil analyzes to be. I did go to Mobile 1 SUV & Truck synthetic when I put the 802 on. I think I see cooler water temps, and better mpg, but that is all so subjective SOTP stuff.
I did the RACOR one because I have confidence in RACOR as a major filter distributor. There are a couple of different bypass filters out there. Do a search with Google and you will find them. Industry uses them extensively with oil and hydraulic systems. I did not find many industry users using Frantz or OilGuard. The OilGuard site implies it is a RACOR product. At the bottom of the OilGuard products list it says "other RACOR products".
I did the 802 size so I could easily bypass filter a lot of oil and catch a lot of particulates before needing replacement. The 802 size will also handle 100cc of water.
PM me if I can be of any help,

I got my 802 from South East Power Systems. They ship anywhere.
